Santa Ynez Casino Poker Room

This poker room is great. The chairs are comfortable. The setting is nice. The dealers are good. The 1/2 games they run use only $1 chips and have a $100 max buy in and it plays like a 1/1 game, which I really like because the stakes are more reasonable. The management is friendly. I also played a tournament which was well run. You can't get alcoholic drinks from table service.

Presentation of the Santa Ynez Chumash Casino Hotel. The Chumash Casino is a resort located in Santa Ynez, California. The venue features 45 gaming tables, 2,500 slots and video machines available 24/7. Six poker tables featuring 5-Card, Omaha and Hold’em are also available as well as a special showroom, which can receive over 350 Bingo players. Dec 09, 2019  Chumash Casino delivers 2,000 slot and video machines that take as little as one penny and as much as $100. You'll also be surrounded by more than 40 table games, ranging from Blackjack and EZ Baccarat to Mystery Card Roulette. The 24-hour Poker Room will hold your attention with 5-Card, Hold ‘Em, and Omaha High/Low.

There's only one problem: the rake is too @#$% high. For the $1/2 game it's $4 PER HAND. Plus $1 for the promotion. And they always take the $1 for the promotion whether there is a flop or not. They just take the small blind every hand. The rake is just too high for the game to be anything but just for fun. I play for fun, but I like to try and win. If you get in 25 hands an hour, that's $100 per hour. Plus $25 for the promotional fund (which you theoretically should get back since you play for the BBJ).

Santa Ynez

Really irks me that what would otherwise be a great room just charges up the wazoo. If you're going to make it a flat fee per hand, charge $3 or $2. You're paying $14 or so an hour just to play poker. So this room is good if you don't care about that.
